Applications that are used on board have a much different set of requirements than other locations. Temperatures are generally less extreme than some other applications, but salt and humidity are always present. Shipboard power has much different requirements than other types of vehicular applications and must be taken into account.


The one place where (sometimes) the requirements aren't as critical is in weight. We have a variety of systems that have been deployed across many different ships with great success. The general characteristics of high quality, specification compliance, and on time delivery that characterized products from Freedom Power are no less important here than anywhere else.

Some of the toughest environments are seen in ground vehicle applications.  Temperatures vary widely and humidity, rain, dust, sand, and snow are all enviromental hazards.  The electrical environment is also severe.  Automotive power systems are perhaps less robust than some other applications and subject power equipment to a variety of short and long term transients.

Like the rest of our products, we stress a thorough understanding of the system application needs as well as the requirements in the specification.  Our thorough design process reviews and verification assure compliance with all customer specifications.  Testing is accomplished based on program requirements for assurance of compliance.
